‘The catalyst for a lot of things for us’: Amilis success story at Women’s Health Week pitch competition

Every year, we bring founders and investors together in our pitch competitions and watch them walk out with experience and connections that can change their trajectory.

Amilis, a UK-based startup creating the infrastructure that makes women’s healthcare more productive, consistent, and human-centred, was the protagonist of one of those cases.

The team applied for the pitch competition at Women's Health Week US 2026 at a pivotal moment: just as they were preparing to launch their product. Looking back, their co-founder and CTO Yasmin Baba describes it as "the catalyst for a lot of things for us at Amilis."

"[The pitch competition] gave us meaningful exposure, helped connect us with the right people in the ecosystem", Baba shares. This is why W Group’s events are different from others in the industry: built for connection, with personalised matchmaking and real opportunities to walk away with new partnerships and deals. For Amilis, the pitch competition came at exactly the right time, just as they were gearing up to launch.

The results speak for themselves: since WHW US 2025, Amilis has secured angel funding, won a major competition at London Tech Week, and built real momentum around their next stage of growth - and it all started at a pitch competition where they could speak directly to investors.

Reflecting on the experience, Baba highlighted how it’s "an incredibly supportive space for founders": “I’d encourage startups to put themselves out there and make the most of it.”

Amilis’s story is proof of what can happen when founders are in the right room, at the right time - and we are proud to open the doors to new startups at each event.

This October, we are bringing our pitch competition to London at Women’s Health Week Europe and Women’s Sport Summit.

Applications close 28 August 2026. Apply below.
