✨ Midi's rebrand, new contraceptive patch, and new FDA approvals

Midi Health relaunches with new brand identity as it expands beyond menopause 🌸

‍

Midi Health - the fastest-growing women's telehealth company in the US, with 450,000+ patients - has unveiled a new brand identity and website, marking its expansion beyond perimenopause and menopause into broader women's healthcare across all life stages. The updated platform now covers conditions including Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome and metabolic health, with AI-powered clinical tools enabling its providers to deliver personalised, evidence-based care more efficiently. The brand's new visual identity uses bold typography and high-contrast colour - a deliberate pushback against the soft, apologetic aesthetic that has long dominated women's health.

‍

"We are laying the foundation for Midi's next era of growth. As the lines between primary and specialty care begin to converge, we are perfectly positioned to take on both the specialized and primary care needs of our patients. We've earned women's trust by delivering compassionate, effective, clinician-led care through midlife, and we're now applying that same model to more and new clinical care types.”

LiviWell launches Livi, the first FDA-cleared post-sex absorption device πŸ”¬

‍

LiviWell has launched Livi nationwide - a single-use foam insert designed to absorb semen and vaginal discharge after sex, helping maintain the vagina's naturally acidic pH and reduce disruption to the vaginal microbiome. It's the first FDA-cleared device specifically designed for post-sex care. In product testing, 98% of users reported improvement in discharge, 84.3% in post-coital odour, and 63% reported less anxiety around sex.

‍

β€œFor far too long, women have been expected to simply accept common post-sex symptoms like odor and discharge. Bringing these everyday realities into the conversation is an important part of advancing women’s intimate health.”
β€” Dawn Halkuff, CEO, LiviWell

FDA approves Gwyn Lo, Viatris' new low-dose weekly contraceptive patch πŸ’Š

‍

The FDA has approved Gwyn Lo, a once-weekly transdermal contraceptive patch from Viatris combining norelgestromin and a low dose of ethinyl estradiol (20 mcg). Based on the phase 3 LUMINOUS trial - which showed a Pearl Index of 4.14 pregnancies per 100 woman-years and 98.7% patch adhesion across 39,790 patches - it adds a lower-estrogen option to a contraceptive market where variety matters: a 2023 CDC survey found 42.8% of women who switched contraception did so simply because they didn't like what they were using. Gwyn Lo is expected to be commercially available later in 2026.

‍

"Gwyn Lo will provide a discreet option for women seeking a reversible, noninvasive, once-weekly contraception patch with a low dose of estrogen,"

FDA clears modular PMA pathway for FemBloc, Femasys' non-surgical permanent birth control πŸ”¬

‍

Femasys has received FDA approval for a modular premarket approval pathway for FemBloc - its non-surgical, in-office permanent birth control technology - allowing key components of the submission to be reviewed ahead of final clinical data from the ongoing FINALE pivotal trial. FemBloc is already approved in Europe, the UK and New Zealand. The device is placed into both fallopian tubes via a patented polymer that safely degrades to form natural scar tissue - no anaesthesia, incisions or recovery time required. Femasys is simultaneously building a US commercial team through OB/GYN channels, laying the foundation for FemBloc's eventual launch.

$575,000 grant brings contrast-enhanced mammography to Northern New York πŸŽ—οΈ

‍

Samaritan Medical Center Foundation has received a $575,000 grant from the Saint Agatha Foundation to install a Contrast-Enhanced Mammography system at its Women's Wellness and Breast Care Center in Watertown, NY - part of a broader $2.3M investment across eight healthcare partners in Central New York. CEM offers sensitivity comparable to breast MRI while reducing unnecessary biopsies, and addresses a real access gap: the nearest comparable facilities are in Syracuse and New York City, leaving rural patients facing distance, weather and transportation barriers to timely diagnosis.

‍

"There are so many medical advancements in early cancer detection, and Saint Agatha Foundation has removed a huge barrier of cost for Samaritan to continue to build our equipment, strengthen our breast care team, and help our patients."
β€” Thomas H. Carman, President & CEO, Samaritan Medical Center
